Retro FPS Ion Rage is acquiring an expansion this summer
In the bypast few years, Dusk, Amid Evil, and Ion Fury have formed a pleasant little pile of neo-retro FPSes, games that revive the mazey structure, speed, and oblong gunfighting of what we played circa 1993. Retro or not, IT's infrequent that we get singleplayer Federal Protective Service campaigns these days, then these indie efforts have helped to maintain a standard genre.
Today publishing firm 3D Realms keeps that trend animate with the announcement of Ion Vehemence: Aftershock, an elaboration to the 2019 FPS. Due to go far this summer at $10, IT'll require ownership of the basic Ion Fury, which is currently $25. "Aftershock continues Shelly's story in the best agency possible: with rockets and high-velocity chases," says Microphone Nielsen, CEO of 3D Realms.
Yes, the late Linger Bike vehicle is one of the standout bits in the short trailer above. At another moment we see the fomite on water, evoking Half life 2's disreputable Water Hazard floor. The trailer doesn't reveal a ton—3D Realms and developer Voidpoint enounce to expect "aggregate brand-new zones to search, late dangerous enemies, freshly armaments to destroy them with," simply we merely see a couple in the new-sprung trailer: I spot a version of the shotgun that fires whatever kind of explosive pellets. At unusual points in the trailer, clouds of green gas hang in the zephyr. Hopefully some completely-new weapons will get ahead the armoury beyond this.
One revealed particular I'm happy about is the improver of "Do mode," which will integrate many of the fresh stuff Aftershock adds (corresponding weapons and enemies) backward into the underivative Ion Fury take the field. A dainty incentive to replay this charming FPS, which I called "the best thing that's ever happened in the Build Railway locomotive" in my 2019 go over.
Note: A previous version of this tale misstated Aftershock's price. It leave be $9.99, not $24.99 at launch.
